An online tool with everything your chapter needs

Early this week, I sat in on a presentation by Wiggio, an impressive yet simple online application for managing calendars, documents, schedules, conference calls, to-do lists and more - a perfect (and free!) program for Mortar Board chapters and the endlessly busy students and advisors who lead them.

During the presentation, I was wowed by some pretty remarkable options, including:
  • Sending a text-message reminder about meetings or a change in location to chapter members
  • Creating polls for anything you want – from when or where to meet to which fundraiser is most popular among members
  • Managing a to-do list so that specific members have tasks that they can check off as they complete them (such as posting minutes or submitting national reports)
  • The ability to have free conference calls, virtual meetings or chat room meetings
  • Synchronizing a handy calendar with your preferred calendar, such as Google or Outlook
  • Housing documents and saving EVERY version, along with who updated it and when, in the “folder” section
During the presentation, I learned that Wiggio also has a Mortar Board connection. Founder and CEO Dana Lampert shared that when Wiggio was conceptualized when he was a student at Cornell University, the Der Hexenkreis Mortar Board chapter was one of the original test groups!

I think this program could be very helpful to our multi-tasking members, so Wiggio has agreed to host free training Webinars on the following dates and times exclusively for Mortar Board members and advisors:
  • Thursday October 21, 3 p.m. Eastern (sign up here)
  • Wednesday, November 17, Noon Eastern (sign up here)
  • Friday, November 19, 1:30 Eastern (sign up here)
